FO & UFO

I finished my first scarf for the Red Scarf project and it is huge I didn't mean to make it so long but it'll work, it wraps around the neck numerous times and it can be tied. The UFO is the Pea Pod sweater where the only knitting I have left is the "Bottom Rib" chart around the color. I found some adorable buttons in Patternworks but I have to wait to order them and then the sweater will be finished it is absolutely adorable but I messed up somewhere in the pattern and ended up with 5 buttonholes, hmm...but it still worked out!

Peapod sweater and login trouble

I started on the Peapod sweater in Caron Simply Soft Yellow and it is gorgeous so far and easy to knit up (I think I'm going to be getting a digital camera for Christmas so expect pictures then). Otherwise I have to do things the old fashioned way. Take the picture, have the film developed, scan it, upload it on photobucket and then post it. Too much hassle for me but that's just my opinion. Otherwise, I'm a little stuck on logging in on here so if anyone can give me some help that would be appreciated!

Recipes to Try (and Knitting!)

I am setting up for my future by getting random recipes. I have a lot of good ones in magazines I need to cut out but here are some from the Internet. I'm at my aunt's house so I can't print it off here without wasting her paper and ink:
Pecan Green Beans
Spicy Chicken Chili

This sounds really fun! I, so, need to brainstorm and knit this up since I'm finished with my doll. December 15th is the deadline which totally rocks because that's a 1/2 day of school and I'll be turning 18 on December 23rd! Woohoo! I need to get brainstorming...maybe later when I have a pad of paper and coloring pencils. I might use this version of the story, I dunno. It's Brother's Grimm.

Book

I went to Half-Price Books tonight and it was so cool (my mom didn't like it but I did). I bought Design & Knit the Sweater of Your Dreams by J. Marsha Michler. I'm trying to get into designing my own stuff but if I can get use to the raglan shaping, etc. then maybe I'll have some sweaters designed. Hopefully.

wondering...

I've been sitting here for a long time just searching for Anti-Violence websites thinking what the hell can I do? Not wanting to give too much away about where I live but this boy, a junior at my school, was beaten by a bunch of juveniles & an 18-year-old supposedly over a girl. But this boy needs to have brain surgery because of these beatings. I don't know him personally but it sucks when you live in a small town and something like this happens and you stop and think, "Oh my God. I'm not safe here. Where am I safe?" I've never been uber-religious & I'm not even sure what I believe in, maybe I'm just one of those niave people who believes life should be about kind words and hugs. I don't want to have to look over my shoulder my entire life but I can't live like that. In Sociology, we are studying "deviants" and it's kind of ironic that these guys would actually...do something this damn stupid. But I am looking for a prayer shawl for this boy's mother. I don't even feel safe in my own school, I still have to look over my shoulder. I avoid those people who have been arrested or have been sent to juvy because I'm scared that because they know I'm "weak" that I could be a target. Is it normal to have these feelings or am I just freaking out with paranoia? I don't know what to do...

patterns I (heart)

Seeing as I'm at school and suppose to pretend to be typing on my Sociology paper I decided to blog. There is so much drama in this school. I know why watching movies or reading books about high school are so amusing. You can't get enough of it. Anyway, onto knitting. I'm bored and going to knitty and I would really, really love to knit these socks. My teacher finally realized that she is 32. Haha. Sorry, shouldn't laugh. She's pregnant, thinking about the baby instead of her age is understandable. You know if I'm really being tracked on my Internet usage here at school they can quit wasting their time. The only porn I look at on here is "yarn porn" hehe. I don't know what else to write on my sociology paper. This afghan is adorable I love Aran style knitting, it's just so pretty and I don't have to change colors every other stitch just to have a gorgeous looking work of knitting. Oh well, time to print my Sociology paper and get ready to go to Art! Woohoo!

Red Scarf Project cont'd

Okay, it's official I have no other red yarn in the same color. I have it in a darker color and I don't think so! So I'm just going to use my navy colored yarn (by guidelines it can be ANY unisex color) so I'm going to go and design my scarf.

Red Scarf Project

I like to "Knit 4 Charity" which is also something I started up at my school but isn't anything official until I get more than two people (me and the school librarian) to knit with us. So first project is a KAL (Knit-Along for those who I have no freaking clue what I'm talking about), it's called the Red Scarf Project. I finished one ball of red yarn today while visiting my cousin (who is pregnant, so expect a lot of baby stuff as well) but anyway, I had another ball of red yarn but it is TOTALLY different than the original color. I noticed after only two stitches which was great I didn't have to frog too much so I'm going to have to get into my box of yarn and find another red to go with it and I know I have it because I got like 6 skeins of red and 6 of black last Christmas so it should be there. I'm also working on designing my own stuff so wish me luck on that.

1st Blog

I hate writing that first entry in a new journal or in this case in a new blog. I have a livejournal which is set to private mostly talking about my life and all that jazz. This blog will be devoted solely to knitting. I love to knit! I am currently knitting a doll for an Art project. I'm designing my own pattern and I might decide to sell it I dunno yet. But I think it's going to be cute but that's someone else's opinion not mine. Um, what else...oh yeah, I'm a high school senior. I'm planning to go to a community college across the street from my high school to use up my "in-state college money" and then I plan on going to University of Indianapolis. That's all I have for now. Later, dearies.
